Solar & Storage
NLS Power sources and supplies solar and storage equipment for Saudi facilities: PV modules, string and hybrid inverters, battery energy storage, mounting structures, combiner boxes and off grid systems, specified around real irradiance, soiling losses and high temperature performance.
Saudi Arabia has some of the best solar resource in the world, and that abundance hides two local realities that decide whether an installation performs to model: heat and dust.
Heat works against you. Module output falls as cell temperature rises, and cell temperature in this climate runs well above air temperature. A design based on standard test conditions overstates what the array will actually deliver in summer, so the temperature coefficient of the module and the derating in the yield model matter more here than in temperate markets.
Dust works against you too. Soiling losses in Saudi conditions are significant and accumulate quickly between cleaning cycles, so the operating and maintenance plan is part of the economics, not an afterthought. A model that assumes clean modules all year overstates production.
Inverter choice follows the application. String inverters suit straightforward rooftop arrays. Hybrid inverters handle solar, battery and grid together, which suits facilities that want backup as well as generation, or that are dealing with an unreliable supply.
Storage changes the value case. Batteries let generation be shifted into evening peak, provide backup, and in some configurations reduce demand charges. Lithium iron phosphate has become the practical default for stationary storage because of cycle life and thermal behaviour.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do dust and heat reduce solar output in Saudi Arabia?+
Both are significant and both are site specific. Soiling accumulates between cleaning cycles and high cell temperature reduces output against standard test conditions, so a credible yield model applies local soiling and temperature derating rather than nameplate figures.
String inverter or hybrid inverter?+
String inverters suit straightforward grid connected rooftop arrays. Hybrid inverters manage solar, battery and grid together, which suits facilities that also want backup or that face an unreliable supply.
Is battery storage worth adding to a solar system?+
It depends on the tariff and the value of backup. Storage shifts generation into evening peak and provides continuity during outages, and the case is strongest where outages are costly or where peak period pricing is significant.
